Lo esencial

Several inches of dry, loose snow rest upon hard crusts from late November. With the exception of a few isolated pockets of shallow soft slab near upper elevations ridgelines, the snowpack is mostly stable. Avalanche activity below the late November crusts is unlikely, and the lower elevations are mostly free of snow.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Zonal flow aloft with embedded moisture will keep skies partly to mostly cloudy on Saturday, and a few light flurries might be possible. Overnight lows in the mountains will be in the upper teens before rising into the mid-20s during the day. Southwesterly ridgetop winds will range from 10 to 20 miles per hour. The snowpack is mostly stable, and the general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW on Saturday. Skiers and riders might be able to trigger an isolated pocket of shallow soft slab in very steep leeward terrain near upper elevation ridgelines. Avalanche activity below the late November crusts is unlikely, and the lower elevations are mostly free of snow.
