  Wet loose snow avalanches could be triggered today by backcountry travelers. Move cautiously around avalanche terrain in places where wet snow roller balls are easily triggered. Wet snow avalanches may occur either below or above the rain/snow line today.

  Warming and rain on snow has created conditions conducive to wet loose avalanches. Cloud cover and above freezing air temperatures on Tuesday night followed by rain to 10,000' yesterday and last night wetted the snow surface on all aspects. Snow levels have lowered this morning, but the wet snow has not yet had a chance to refreeze, keeping this avalanche problem a widespread concern.

  Above the rain/snow line, identify areas where wind drifted snow is filling in to create wind slabs. Uses clues such as visible blowing snow, cornice formations, wind pillows, and snow surface cracking to identify the most likely locations of concern. Move around these suspect slopes with caution.

  Snow levels lowered early this morning, enough to create some concern for new wind slabs to form today above about 8,000'. The size of the wind slabs that form today are expected to remain small for the most part. If new snow amounts in wind protected areas manage to approach 6 inches today, larger, more problematic wind slabs will exist in wind loaded areas.
