Lo esencial

The light amount of incoming snow on Saturday is not expected to be enough to create new avalanche problems. You may find isolated and shallow pockets of wind slab on easterly lee slopes near and above treeline as the snow begins to fall.

Avalanche Discussion

The cooling trend has turned Thursday's mush into a new melt freeze crust. Riding conditions will be firm on Saturday.

The weather models are pointing toward the bulk of the precipitation to come in Saturday night through Monday. If the storm delivers earlier than expected, monitor where wind drifting snow is accumulating. If you see fresh wind deposits of 10" or more be cautious on steep wind loaded slopes.

The current snowpack is generally strong and no lingering weak layers have been observed.
