Lo esencial

The general avalanche hazard is expected to increase from Low to Moderate today as increasing temperatures and sunlight this morning weaken the snowpack. Where this occurs, wet slides will become possible as will the potential to trigger full depth hard slabs in isolated areas of very steep terrain.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )A weak system is expected to bring light amounts of snow to western Wyoming on Thursday. Temperatures are to reach the upper twenties in the mountains and the upper thirties at lower elevations following expected below freezing temperatures overnight.During the day, the general avalanche hazard will increase from Low to Moderate in avalanche terrain where the snowpack is softened by sunlight and increasing temperatures. Wet slides will be possible in these weakened areas throughout the forecast zones as will the possibility to trigger hard slabs in the Togwotee Pass and Greys River area on very steep slopes.
