Avalanche Summary

You might be able to trigger an avalanche on steep slopes if you find a cohesive layer of drifted snow that sits over older snow below. Cracking and collapsing are indicators that you have found an area with this setup. If you observe these signs of insability, move to a lower-angle slope or choose terrain that faces south or west.
