Very warm temperatures and intense sunshine will increase the wet slide avalanche hazard as the day warms. Wet loose and and small wet slab avalanches are possible on a variety of aspects in very steep terrain. Cornices may become unstable and could trigger large slab avalanches. Some potential may exist for large wet slab avalanches to be triggered by snowmobilers in isolated areas where buried layers of faceted snow persist in the snowpack. Monitor conditions and avoid steep avalanche prone terrain after significant warming occurs.

Temperatures are forecast to drop into the upper 20s overnight and rise into the 40s and 50s in the mountains and into the 60s in the valleys. Winds will relax to speeds of five to ten miles per hour and veer towards the north.The general avalanche hazard will be LOW in the early morning hours and increase to MODERATE after snow surfaces soften. Wet loose and small wet slab avalanches will become possible in very steep terrain. Cornice failures will become a possibility and could trigger large slab avalanches on steep slopes. Deeper hard slabs may become sensitive to human triggers in isolated locations at the upper elevations in the Togwotee Pass and Greys River areas.
