Lo esencial

The mid and upper elevation snowpack, which is comprised of faceted snow and a variety of crusts in the process of decomposing, is mostly stable. Avalanches are unlikely today. However, caution is advised in cliff areas and in steep couloirs.

Avalanche Discussion

Fast moving shortwaves embedded in northwesterly flow will bring mostly cloudy skies and an inch or two of new snow by Saturday evening. Mountain temperatures will remain in the teens overnight before rising into the low 20s on Saturday. The valley should see lows near 20 and afternoon highs in the mid 30s. Northwesterly ridgetop winds will range from 15 to 30 miles per hour.The general avalanche hazard is expected to remain LOW; avalanches are unlikely.
