Forecast Snow Stability: Fresh, unstable but generally shallow windslab will be present mainly on North through East to South aspects above 900 metres. Deeper instabilities will also persist in older windslab on many aspects with North through East to South-East aspects most affected. Large and fragile cornices will be present mainly above these aspects. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Strong North-West winds back South-West overnight and veer Westerly during the day. Snow showers. The freezing level will rise to around 400 metres during the day. Observed Weather Influences: After overnight snow it was a mainly dry day with moderate North-North-Westerly winds. The freezing level was around 100 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Fresh, poorly bonded but generally shallow windslab is present mainly on North-East through East to South aspects above 900 metres. Instabilities are also persisting in older windslab on many aspects with North through East to South-East most affected. Fragile cornices are present above many aspects.
