GC for 19/3. Mild and sunny. Snowpack well bonded and stable. Isolated surface instabilities where affected by sun. Low hazard.

Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will continue to consolidate and be generally well bonded and stable. Isolated surface instabilities possible on aspects exposed to the sun. Any remaining cornices will be prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: It will be a mild sunny day with the freezing level well above the summits. Winds will be strong South-Easterly. Observed Weather Influences: A dry sunny day with moderate to strong South-South-Westerly winds. The freezing level rose from 600 metres early morning to above all summits during the afternoon. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is well bonded and stable with an icy crust in most locations. Localised deposits of moderately bonded windslab, that exist, mainly on North-Easterly aspects above 1000 metres are gradually consolidating in the milder temperatures. These deposits are mainly present in gully tops and around coire rims. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
