The avalanche danger is generally LOW and human triggered avalanches are unlikely. Thin snow cover and low tide conditions suggest the biggest threat is slamming into a season ending obstacle like a tree stump, barely hidden under the surface of our early season snowpack.

Just 'cause you can see it from the car doesn't mean it's safe or you're good to go. Our front-line health care workers are maxed out. So, let's collectively think about our decisions and the consequences that may have on others, especially if we need outside assistance or a rescue.

No new avalanche activity to report. Ted found a drift or two on Double Hill yesterday, but in general they are tired and unreactive. More on his travels and informative insight found here.

Nowcast-

Under clear skies, temperatures remained mild overnight, generally registering in the low 30's across the board. Southerly winds currently blow in the mid 20's along the high ridges. Riding and turning conditions are a mixed bag, though there's some creamy snow found in wind sheltered terrain. But with snow depths only averaging 18" or so, the Uinta's are quite thin.

Forecast-

Look for sunny skies with high temperatures climbing into the low 40's. Overnight lows dip into the 20's. Southerly winds remain reasonable, but blow in the 20's and 30's along the high peaks.

Futurecast-

Cooler air slides through the area late Sunday, but sunny skies and dry weather prevails through the week.
