Avalanche Activity

Small avalanches especially on very steep shady slopes.

On very steep shady slopes and at intermediate and high altitudes slab avalanches are possible, but they will be mostly small. Avalanches can in isolated cases be released by large loads.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack will be subject to considerable local variations. The snowpack will be generally well bonded. In some places various wind slab layers are lying on an icy crust. The weather conditions will give rise to gradual consolidation of the snowpack in particular at intermediate and high altitudes. The older wind slabs can be released by large loads in particular.
