Forecast Snow Stability: Accumulations of moderately bonded windslab will persist mainly on North-West through North to East aspects above 1000 metres, with more isolated shallow accumulations on South-East aspects. Areas most affected will be steep wind sheltered locations such as gully tops and coire rims. Elsewhere the old snowpack will be well bonded, firm and stable, with a thin covering of soft snow above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Snow showers above 1000 metres at the start of the night will quickly ease to give dry conditions. Strong Westerly winds overnight will become light North-Westerly by morning and light Northerly during the afternoon. The freezing level will gradually drop to around 800 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Snow showers throughout the day with gale force South-South-Westerly winds. The freezing level rose to around 1000 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Accumulations of fresh moderately bonded windslab are developing mainly on North-West through North to East aspects above 1000 metres. Areas most affected are wind sheltered locations such as gully tops and coire rims. Elsewhere the old snowpack is well bonded and stable with a thin covering of soft snow. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
