Avalanche Activity

Little snow, small drift snow problem

The avalanche danger is low, the main danger is drift snow. Above 2000 m, small slab avalanches can be triggered in a few places in west, north and east exposures.

Snowpack Structure

The snow surface is wind-treated. In the upper part of the snow cover, overblown fresh snow can form a weak layer. Overall, there is still little snow.

Weather Forecast

After a clear night, dense clouds will move in from the west in the morning hours on Saturday. It will be overcast but dry in the morning, with a chance of snow in the afternoon. The snow line will be between 1000 m and 1300 m. The wind will remain weak. At 2000 metres the temperature will be around -2 degrees Celsius, at 3000 metres around -7 degrees Celsius. For Sunday, there will be sunshine with veil clouds until around midday. In the afternoon, increasingly dense clouds will gather. With light winds, the temperature at 2000 metres will be around 2 degrees, at 3000 metres around -4 degrees Celsius.
