Lo esencial

Three feet of snow has recently fallen in the area at mid and high elevations. This snow was accompanied by primarily Westerly winds and has formed slabs to four feet in avalanche terrain. On Southerly aspects they lie upon crusts and they are intermixed with layers of lighter density snow and graupel on all aspects. Cold temperatures have added stability to the snowpack however slabs of new snow with depths up to four feet could be triggered today by backcountry users today on steep, wind loaded slopes. At the low elevations avalanches are unlikely today except in isolated pockets in steep wind loaded areas.
