Lo esencial
A mostly stable snowpack exists in the Teton area. However, at the mid and upper elevations the lower portions of the snowpack consist of weak, faceted snow. Some potential remains to trigger old hard slabs up to 3 feet in depth on steep shaded slopes on this weak foundation. Releases would likely require larger triggers such as multiple passes by backcountry travellers. If forecasted snow develops, soft surface slabs could become a hazard by this afternoon or evening on lee slopes and on smooth, south facing sun crusts. At low elevations avalanches are unlikely in the shallow snowpack.
