The fresh wind slabs can be released easily, but they can reach medium size, especially at intermediate and high altitudes. As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation moist and wet avalanches are possible below approximately 2400 m. The current avalanche situation calls for defensive route selection.

Over a wide area 40 to 60 cm of snow fell in the last three days above approximately 2200 m. A lot of new snow in the high Alpine regions. Up to 2000 m rain has fallen in some regions. As a consequence of new snow and wind, sometimes avalanche prone wind slabs formed. The surface of the snowpack will freeze to form a strong crust, after a clear night especially at low and intermediate altitudes.
