SC 14.02 Old snow will be very firm, with isolated shallow windslab above 900m, NE through SE to SW affected. Avalanche hazard Low.

Forecast Snow Stability: The patchy snow will remain firm and icy in the lowering freezing levels. Shallow and inconsequential accumulations of windslab will form in very wind sheltered locations on North-East through South-East to South-West aspects above 900 metres. Greatest amounts of snow will be found in higher North to East facing corries. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: The freezing level will be around 800 metres overnight but dropping to the glens during the day. Snow showers are expected throughout this forecasted period. Gale force winds from the North-North-West or North. Observed Weather Influences: It was a cloudy day with little precipitation. The freezing level was around 900 metres throughout. The very strong winds overnight eased around dawn with no discernible wind on the hill thereafter. ObservedSnowStability: The patchy snow cover is firm above 900 metres and thawing at lower levels but remains well bonded and stable throughout. Greatest amounts are found in high North to East facing corries. The avalanche hazard is Low.
