Avalanche activity will increase during the day on steep sun exposed slopes before cloud cover reduces warming. Strong winds may locally stabilize the snow surface.

Regn natt til fredag og manglende nattefrost vil gi våte løssnøskred allerede fra morgenen av, særlig i enkelte østvendte fjellsider. Noe økt aktivitet kan forekomme utover dagen i bratte solvendte sider, før skydekke demper oppvarmingen. Kraftig vind kan lokalt stabilisere snøoverflaten.

Snowpack Structure

I lavlandet og kystnære strøk er det stort sett bart, og i sørvendt terreng når snøgrensa et stykke opp i fjellet. Snødekket er smelteomvandlet, med hard skare om morgenen der nattefrost gir gjenfrysing, men myk og våt overflate fra starten av dagen der dette uteblir.

Tendency

No overnight refreeze, mild temperatures at high elevations and strong sunshine result in widespread wet snow avalanche danger from early morning, also in shaded aspects. Avoid steep slopes with heavy, sticky snow, especially below cornices, glide cracks and near sun‑warmed rocks. At high elevations, layered snow in shaded aspects may weaken. Isolated large avalanches are possible, especially due to cornice failures.
