Forecast Snow Stability: Localised areas of windslab will persist, mainly on West through North to North-East aspects above 900 metres. Some fragile cornices will be present above these aspects. Elsewhere the snowpack is consolidating and will be generally stable. Fresh snow accumulations are not expected to be significant. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: Light Easterly winds slowly veer to the West through the period. Occasional showers falling as snow above 800 metres overnight and 900 metres during the day. The freezing level will rise to around the height of the higher summits during the day. Observed Weather Influences: It was a mainly dry day with moderate Easterly winds. The freezing level was around 850 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Localised areas of moderately bonded windslab are persisting, mainly on West through North to North-East aspects above 900 metres. Some fragile cornices are present above these aspects. Elsewhere the snowpack is consolidating and is generally stable. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
