Lo esencial

There have been no observations of avalanches since our latest round of snow on Wednesday.  Low hazard means that avalanches are unlikely, but small avalanches are still possible on isolated slopes.  Continue to use safe travel techniques, make good observations and don't be blinded by the big green triangle, particularly if you are venturing onto larger alpine slopes.

The most recent storm brought us relatively minimal new snow (8-12 cm.) and we haven't seen any significant Wind Slab activity.  After a mostly calm and sunny day on Thursday,  Wind Slabs will be unlikely on Friday.  I won't completely rule out this avalanche character though, particularly in the high alpine at peak elevations.  As folks venture onto bigger alpine slopes even small, isolated avalanches could have consequences.

Avalanche Discussion

Beautiful weather and a right-side-up snow pack were the theme of Thursday and will be again on Friday!
