Lo esencial

As the temperature drops there will be a gradual decrease in the danger of moist avalanches as the day progresses.

Problemas de aludes

  • Wet snow

    • Todas las altitudes

Snowpack Structure

Over a wide area 5 to 15 cm of snow has fallen since Friday above approximately 1800 m. In areas where the snow cover is rather shallow and on very steep sunny slopes the snowpack will soften rapidly. The old snowpack will be well bonded on steep sunny slopes. Faceted weak layers exist in the snowpack on north, northeast and northwest facing slopes. On Tuesday on extremely steep slopes only isolated small avalanches were reported. Less snow than usual is lying. In particular on sunny slopes from a snow sport perspective, insufficient snow is lying.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will persist.

Avalanche Activity

As the temperature drops there will be a gradual decrease in the danger of moist avalanches as the day progresses.

The small quantity of fresh snow and isolated small wind slabs can be released in isolated cases in all aspects above approximately 2200 m. In particular, however, there is a danger of moist snow slides during the day.
