Avalanche Activity

Wet snow requires caution.

As a consequence of warming during the day and the solar radiation, the likelihood of wet avalanches being released will increase a little. Only isolated wet avalanches are possible. This applies in particular on extremely steep shady slopes. Mostly avalanches are small.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack will be wet all the way through over a wide area. The surface of the snowpack will freeze to form a strong crust only at high altitudes and will soften quickly. On steep sunny slopes as well as below approximately 1800 m hardly any snow is lying.

Tendency

Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be quite good. The danger of wet avalanches will increase a little during the day.
