Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche anywhere you find more than about a foot of recent snow at all elevations. Even a small avalanche could become deadly if you get carried over a cliff, through trees, or into a depression. If you see recent avalanches, shooting cracks, or feel collapses within the new snow, it is time to move to slopes less than about 30 degrees.

There will be warm temperatures and some uncertainty around the rain/snow line at lower elevations. Extra caution will be needed if you see rain falling on the snowpack. If the snow surface becomes gloppy and moist, or pinwheels begin to form on steeper slopes, it is time to move up in elevation or go home.
