Dense slabs one to four feet in depth exist on steep wind loaded aspects at all elevations. These slabs lie upon slick crusts and weak layers of faceted snow. Skiers and highmarking riders have triggered these slabs on steeper aspects over the past several days. Some were nearly caught. Use caution today and avoid steep wind loaded slopes, known avalanche paths, steep canyons and gullies.
