Lo esencial

Riders and skiers have the potential to trigger pockets of surface slabs formed by new snow and wind up to a foot in depth in steep wind loaded terrain at the high elevations. The chance also persists to trigger isolated pockets of recent wind slabs in very steep couloirs and cliff areas. At mid elevations avalanches are unlikely except for small isolated pockets on wind loaded features. Low elevations lack the coverage and new snow for avalanche production. This will be the final weekend for avalanche advisories for the 2012-2013 season. Snowfall and wind data will still be available by looking at weather station links and weekly summaries will continue to be provided for another month.

Pockets of new shallow slabs formed by northwest winds lie upon hard snow surfaces and could be triggered in steep wind loaded terrain at the high elevations. In aggressive terrain, the chance also continues to trigger isolated pockets of wind slab to depths of eighteen inches that were formed by winds from varying directions over the last week.
