Lo esencial

The General Avalanche Hazard is LOW at all elevations this morning as below freezing overnight temperatures have hardened the snow surface limiting potential avalanche activity to isolated pockets of surface slabs to a foot in depth in steep high elevation terrain. In the afternoon as temperatures rise and some sunlight weakens the snow surface, wet slide activity will become possible at all elevations.

Avalanche Discussion

As the recent trough exists partial clearing and overnight temperatures well below freezing are expected at all elevations. Friday looks to be partly to mostly cloudy before another weak system enters the area by Saturday. AVALANCHE HAZARD FORECAST FOR THE TETON, TOGWOTEE PASS, AND SOUTHWEST TRAILS AREAS:The General Avalanche Hazard tomorrow is expected to be LOW at all elevations in the morning and increase to MODERATE in the afternoon as increasing temperatures and sunlight weaken the snow surface and provide for the possibility of wet slides.
