Lo esencial
The general avalanche hazard remains CONSIDERABLE. Strong winds and some new snow has added an additional load to existing surface slabs which are up to two feet in depth. In addition DANGEROUS deep slab instabilities persist. These surface slabs lie upon buried weak layers of faceted snow and if triggered could step down to weak early season layers or the ground. These slabs could be triggered on steep wind loaded avalanche prone slopes by a single skier or snowboarder but are more likely to be triggered by snowmachines. The greatest hazard is to highmarking snowmobilers or skiers and snowboarders who venture into steep extreme terrain.
