Lo esencial

Stormy conditions for the mountains of Douglas today with rain and moderate to strong winds forecasted throughout the day.  The snow line came down to 2600' through the early morning hours, however it is forecasted to rise back above ridgetops by mid day. Riders should watch out for Wet Loose avalanche problems starting at rainy lower and middle elevations today and climbing to upper elevations throught the course of the day.

Avalanche Discussion

Warm and wet weather continues today adding more moisture to an already saturated snowpack. Wet Loose will be the main problem to keep an eye on as wet heavy snow could possibly be easy to get moving on steeper slopes.  As we come to the end of our lift accessed season we want to give a huge thank you to all the staff at Eaglecrest for doing their best to keep things open and operating for all of us on a very difficult season. Make sure to thank any staff you see up there today as we celebrate the end of another Eaglecrest ski season! Remember now that Eaglecrest will be closed for the remainder of the season to treat it like the backcountry as it will not be controlled from here on out.
