Until Sunday the weather will be very mild. Warming to the high Alpine regions. In some localities increase in danger of moist snow slides as the penetration by moisture increases. The wind will be strong adjacent to ridgelines. In particular here the wind slabs will increase in size moderately. The fresh wind slabs represent the main danger. These can be released by a single winter sport participant in some cases in particular on extremely steep south, southeast and east facing slopes above approximately 2600 m. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. Until the temperature falls individual small and medium-sized dry and moist avalanches are possible below approximately 3000 m. Especially on extremely steep slopes natural avalanches must be expected.

The Avalanche Warning Service currently has only a small amount of information that has been collected in the field. Above approximately 2400 m snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Even in moderately steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the icy crust. At low and intermediate altitudes only a little snow is lying. Along the border with Switzerland, in the regions exposed to heavier precipitation especially below approximately 2800 m. Many starting zones have released the snow. The old snowpack will be generally well bonded.

The avalanche danger will persist.
