Lo esencial

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE. Soft slabs, up to three feet in depth, could be triggered by backcountry travelers venturing onto steep, wind-loaded starting zones. Extended periods of sunshine will increase the sensitivity of these slabs and provide the chance for wet-loose slides on sunlit slopes.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Mostly cloudy skies, periods of snow showers, mountain highs in the upper twenties and light West to Northwest winds are expected on Thursday. The avalanche danger in the Western Wyoming forecast areas is to MODERATE above 8500 feet. In some areas surface slabs to three feet persist and could be human triggered in steep wind loaded avalanche terrain. Avalanches are unlikely at lower elevations.
