Lo esencial

At upper elevations backcountry travelers could trigger surface slabs or sloughs to a foot in depth on steep, lee slopes. At mid and low elevtions the snowpack is mostly stable. Any sustained sunshine will increase the chance of releasing surface slides on sunlit aspects.

Avalanche Discussion

Northwest flow is expected to bring a few light snow showers to the area with partly to mostly cloudy skies. Mountain temperatures are to rise from the single digits to near twenty degrees in the afternoon while ridge crest winds from Northwest blow with 15-25 mph averages.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be Moderate at high elevations in the Tetons where pockets of slab could be human triggered in steep wind loaded terrain. The avalanche hazard is expected to be low at other elevations in the Tetons and the other forecast areas.
