Lo esencial

At the mid and upper elevations areas of unstable snow persist on steep avalanche prone slopes underlain by a weak base of faceted snow. In addition on the west slope of the Teton Range eight inches of new snow and strong northwest winds have formed isolated pockets of new soft slab. Humans who venture into steep avalanche prone terrain could trigger slab avalanches one to three feet deep. These slabs could fail on approach or after a slope has been crossed multiple times. Those who make bold terrain decisions could incur severe consequences. Avalanches are unlikely at the lower elevations.

Avalanche Discussion

Skies will be partly cloudy. Temperatures will rise into the single digits above zero to low teens. Winds will be northwesterly at 15 to 20 miles per hour. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be MODERATE above an elevation of 8,000 feet. Areas of unstable snow persist and will continue to be sensitive to human triggers. Humans who venture onto steep avalanche prone slopes could trigger a hard slab avalanche one to three feet deep. These slabs could fail on approach or after a slope has been crossed multiple times. Those who make bold terrain choices could incur severe consequences. At the lower elevations the general avalanche hazard is LOW and avalanches are unlikely.
