Lo esencial

In the past six days 45 to 50 inches of new snow has fallen at the upper elevations. Strong west-southwesterly ridge crest winds have formed soft surface slabs up to four feet in depth. At this time denser snow lies upon very light density snow that fell two days ago. At 3 AM this morning the Wyoming Department of Transportation triggered a slab avalanche from the Twin Slides path that ran to the highway. Dangerous slab avalanches two to five feet in depth could be easily triggered by backcountry users and have potential to release spontaneously and run long distances
