Avalanche Activity

Some new snow above approximately 1200 m.

The Avalanche Warning Service currently has only a small amount of information. Wind slabs are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and at elevated altitudes. These can in isolated cases be released by large loads. Loose snow avalanches are possible. On steep slopes small dry and moist avalanches are possible as a consequence of the new snow.

Snowpack Structure

Up to 15 cm of snow, but less in some localities, has fallen above approximately 1200 m. Faceted weak layers exist deeper in the snowpack on steep shady slopes. Weak layers in the old snowpack necessitate caution. Above approximately 1500 m snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. From a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.
