Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will continue to consolidate and be well bonded and stable in all locations. The snow surface will refreeze above around 750 metres, with a gradual thaw of any remaining snow at lower elevations. Greatest accumulations remain in coires, gullies and on plateau areas above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: It will be a dry overcast day. Fresh North-North-Westerly winds will decrease in strength through the day. The freezing level will be around 750 metres. Observed Weather Influences: Light showers in the morning which were rain at most levels cleared to give a dry day. Very strong Westerly winds eased through the day. The freezing level dropped to around 900 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is continuing to consolidate, and above 900 metres beginning to refreeze. Snowpack stability is good in all locations. At lower levels a gradual thaw continues. The avalanche hazard is Low.
