Lo esencial

Fresh wind slabs require caution.

Problemas de aludes

  • Wind slab

    • Above 2,300 m
  • Gliding snow

    • Below 2,300 m

Tendency

Wind and new snow to low altitudes: Further increase in danger of dry avalanches.

Avalanche Activity

Fresh wind slabs require caution.

As a consequence of new snow and a strong southwesterly wind, small wind slabs formed during the course of the night above approximately 2200 m. They can be released easily by a single winter sport participant. The avalanches in these regions are only small but very easily released. In all aspects individual small gliding avalanches and moist snow slides are possible as the penetration by moisture increases. This applies on very steep slopes below approximately 2200 m. Apart from the danger of being buried, restraint should be exercised in particular in view of the danger of avalanches sweeping people along and giving rise to falls.
