Forecast Snow Stability: Snow showers and redistribution of the existing snowpack will deposit areas of unstable windslab in sheltered locations on mainly East to South aspects above 800 metres where avalanches are likely. The tops of slopes and gullies will be particularly affected. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: It will be cold with temperatures remaining below freezing. Snow showers overnight will continue through the day. North-Westerly winds will strengthen overnight. Observed Weather Influences: It was a cold day with moderate Northerly-Easterly winds. There were a few light snow showers. Temperatures remained below freezing at all levels. ObservedSnowStability: A relatively uniform layer of snow exists in almost all locations. There was some light drifting onto South to West aspects through the day. A few minor instabilities exist on mainly but not exclusively South to West aspects above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
