Lo esencial

Avalanche danger is LOW. The only substantial snowpack in the forecast area exists above 8,000 ft on Mount Shasta. If heading up, expect cold temperatures, northwesterly wind, and firm conditions. Many hard obstacles exist.A strong winter storm will commence late Saturday and bring feet of snow to the area. Can we get a whoop, whoop!?

Avalanche Discussion

A bombproof base of snow with a variety platter of surface textures exists above 8,000 ft on Mount Shasta. Expect teeth-chattering skiing conditions. There is no usable snow elsewhere in the forecast area. Be prepared for firm snow, cold temperatures, and WIND! Crampons, an ice axe, and a helmet are mandatory if climbing steep terrain. Do not underestimate a winter climb of Mt. Shasta.
