Avalanche Activity

Forecast Snow Stability: The older snowpack will remain firm and stable. Isolated and shallow areas of windslab will be present mainly on South-East through South to West aspects above 700 metres. There will be some redistribution of this snow onto North-West to North-East aspects in the afternoon. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: It will be cold and dry after some evening snow showers. Moderate North-West winds will back to the South by dawn and increase to fresh in the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: It was a cold, dry, sunny morning with snow showers in the afternoon. Moderate winds were from the North. ObservedSnowStability: In most places the snowpack is firm, frozen and stable. Isolated areas of shallow moderately bonded windslab are present mainly on South to West aspects above 700 metres. These areas are generally avoidable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
