The General Avalanche Hazard is MODERATE at Upper elevations and LOW at the Mid and Low elevations. Above 9,000 feet, pockets of slab up to 18 inches in depth could be triggered by backcountry travelers in steep, wind loaded starting zones near ridge crests. Below 9,000 feet, mostly stable snow exists and avalanches are unlikely

An artic front is forecasted to move through the region on Friday night resulting in continued scattered snow showers and bitterly cold temperatures. Overnight lows in the mountains are expected to dip into the negative teens before rising to near zero during the day on Saturday. Accumulations of 1 to 3 inches of light density snow are possible.With little snowfall in the forecast, the General Avalanche Hazard in the Teton area on Saturday is expected to remain MODERATE above 9,000 feet. Below 9,000 feet, mostly stable snow exists, and avalanches are unlikely.The General Avalanche Hazard is expected to continue to be LOW in the Togwotee Pass and Greys River regions.
