Lo esencial

The snowpack at the mid and upper elevations is shallow, 6 to 12 inches in depth but contains up to two inches of moisture. Its base is very dense as the storm late last week began as rain. This dense base quickly grades to light density snow and a layer of buried surface hoar which formed last weekend. The upper portion of the snowpack is comprised of light density snow that fell during cold temperatures on Monday and Tuesday. Avalanches are unlikely.
