Lo esencial

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE in the early morning hours and will rise to CONSIDERABLE as temperatures increase. Dense slabs to three feet in depth lie upon weak layers of faceted snow. These slabs have been recently triggered in steep wind loaded avalanche terrain. These slabs will become easier to trigger as warming occurs. In the southern Tetons a snowboarder was killed in an avalanche near Ski Lake on Saturday. On Sunday in seperate avalanche incidents in the Salt River Range one snowmobiler was killed and another was completely buried and recovered alive by companions.
