The fresh snow of the last four days as well as the wind slabs are lying on top of a weakly bonded old snowpack. They represent the main danger. Even single winter sport participants can release avalanches. These avalanche prone locations are to be found in all aspects above approximately 2000 m. Additionally in some places avalanches can be released in deep layers and reach large size in isolated cases. Whumpfing sounds serve as an alarm indicating the danger. Backcountry touring and other off-piste activities call for extensive experience in the assessment of avalanche danger and careful route selection. Dry snow slides and avalanches are possible, but they will be mostly small.

30 to 50 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, fell in the last four days. The strong wind has transported the new snow. Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas and at high altitudes and in high Alpine regions a little snow is lying. Weak layers exist in the old snowpack in all aspects. At low and intermediate altitudes less snow than usual is lying.

The avalanche danger will decrease.
