TO for 22/1. Thin new snow rapidly thawing. Old snow patches in gullies and coire rims, N to E aspects above 850m stable. Low Hazard

Forecast Snow Stability: Any remaining new snow above 800 metres will rapidly thaw with the onset of rain. The limited old snow patches can be found mainly in gullies and around coire rims on North to East aspects above 850 metres. These will be well bonded and stable. Elsewhere will mainly be bare ground. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Light rain at all levels throughout the day. The freezing level will be above the summits. Winds will be moderate South-Westerly in direction. Observed Weather Influences: A dry cloudy day with moderate South-Westerly winds. The freezing level was just above the summits. ObservedSnowStability: A very thin layer of new snow above 800 metres is gradually thawing. Elsewhere the patches of old snow are firm, well consolidated and stable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
