Lo esencial

The early season snowpack is mostly stable. Isolated pockets of shallow wind slabs may exist in very steep wind loaded terrain at the high elevations. Be cautious of the hazards involved with low snow depths. Teton County Search and Rescue responded to two separate injuries on Teton Pass over the last week. Below 8,500 feet, snow depths quickly diminish along with the possibility of avalanche activity.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Embedded moisture in the north flow could bring isolated mountain snow showers tonight, particularly on the east side of the continental divide. Winds overnight are expected to continue to veer to the northeast with 5 to 20 mph averages before decreasing in the early morning hours. By sunrise, skies will be mostly clear and winds will be calm. Temperatures are to be similar to today's, with mountain highs reaching the upper teens and valleys reaching the upper twenties to low thirties. The avalanche danger will be rated as Low.
