Lo esencial

The overall danger rating is LOW today.

LOW danger does not mean NO DANGER.

If you're looking for trouble in the steepest most radical terrain, you can probably find it.

If you're not looking to get too rowdy out there, you'll have safe avalanche conditions.

Recent Activity

The only avalanche activity that I've seen is minor surface sluffing of the top few inches of the newest snow. I have not seen any slab avalanche activity.

Snow and Weather

Current Conditions: Tuesday was cold with excellent powder conditions. I did get a few reports from people who were traveling in terrain on the east side of the Skyline who said the underlying snow felt quite stiff under the new snow and didn't provide as good of riding conditions as locations on the west side of the Skyline. Wind has been calm to light in speed from the northwest. Overnight temperatures were in the single digits.

Mountain Weather: We'll have more sunshine today with temperatures getting into the mid 20s. Northwest wind should remain relatively light. The rest of the week looks pretty nice. The next chance for snow is during a storm shaping up for Sunday night.
