There is no serious threat of avalanches at this time on the Skyline. If you happen to poking around the highest, most exposed terrain, you might find a small wind drifted pocket that could crack out. It is unlikely that anyone would be in this terrain right now due to how difficult it is to travel in the very shallow snow conditions.

Current Conditions: Overall snow conditions are very shallow and there isn't much opportunity for serious winter recreation yet. There is really only 3 to 7 inches total snow depth scattered through the hills. I have noticed a few snowmobile tracks on some of the mountain roads. Temyperatures have been in the mid to upper teens and the wind has been moderate in speed from the west. It's slightly breezy along the highest peaks.

Mountain Weather: We have a storm system moving through today and Wednesday which doesn't look like it'll produce much snow. Anticipate clouds and periods of light snow today with minor accumulations. Wind will be light to moderate from the west. Temperatures will get into the upper 20s to around 30˚F. Wednesday looks similar with periods of light snow, wind from the north and temperatures in the mid 20s. I'm not anticipating much more than a few inches of snow from this system. Another storm looks like it might bring some snow Friday and Saturday.
