Extreme NW winds buffetted Mt. Hood on Monday. Freezing levels climbed to 7000' with periods of light rain mainly affecting the west and south side of the mountain.
Fresh wind slabs may be found above treeline on Tuesday as strong NW winds easily transport new snow that falls Monday night or Tuesday morning. Strong NW winds usually cause erratic loading patterns at Mt. Hood. Expect shallow but potentially sensitive wind slabs on a variety of aspects and potentially further downslope than usual. Steer around slopes steeper than 35 degrees where you think a wind slab may have formed and think about the consequences of a small avalanche around terrain traps.
A lack of fresh snow and a slow cooling trend should limit the avalanche danger near and below treeline. Expect potentially difficult travel conditions at all elevations with variable snow surfaces. You may encounter wet heavy snow, breakable crust, firm wind slabs, and even bare ice. Don't cross steep icy slopes if you are not confident you can safely self-arrest a fall.
