Lo esencial

The General Avalanche Hazard is MODERATE. The potential for backcountry travellers to trigger slab avalanches in very steep wind loaded terrain exists today. The generally shallow snowpack contains weak, faceted snow layers that are likely to be included if a slide is triggered, providing the potential for slab depths to be up to three feet in depth in some areas.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Mostly cloudy skies are expected Thursday following light accumulations of light snow overnight. Cold temperatures are to continue with mountain highs in the single digits. The possibility will continue for backcountry travelers to trigger surface slabs in steep wind loaded terrain to depths of two feet. Although unlikely and in limited areas, a slight potential remains to trigger slides involving deeper weak layers of snow.
