Lo esencial

Strong Northwest winds have moved available snow into small, easily triggered pockets in lee zones at the high and mid elevations. These small slides are mostly of danger to travelers who might be swept off their positions into dangerous terrain or over cliffs. Slabs to 10" in depth resting on a buried layer of surface hoar have been triggered on northerly aspects on shaded terrain in the last two days. "Weather" or not snow temperatures will rise to a point to make wet snow slides a concern will be a struggle between the sun, clouds and winds. At low elevations overnight lows have been the warmest of the season so wet snow avalanche danger may climb rapidly.
